W.S. Dennison was established in 1979 with a workforce of only two. From this small but enthusiastic beginning the company has grown into a well established business with over 50 employees and 25 vehicles.

W.S. Dennison provides a furniture delivery service direct from manufacturers throughout the UK & Ireland or alternatively delivered directly into their warehouse from European & Asian manufacturers. These goods will then be routed for delivery directly to households and businesses throughout Ireland from operating centres in Antrim and Limerick.

W.S. Dennison has installed TomTom’s LINK tracking unit, PRO navigation devices, and ecoPLUS fuel monitoring devices within 20 of their trucks. Personnel in the office are now able to monitor the movements of the vehicles, analyse the way in which the vehicle is driven and supply accurate ETA’s to customers.

The drivers are able to navigate routes to customer’s premises with greater accuracy, whereas with the previous solution they were only able to navigate to a certain distance of their actual destination. Live traffic information informs the driver of any delays on route and suggest alternative saving time and fuel, this also enables the office to keep customers informed if there are delays, giving accurate times of arrival, a great boost to customer service.

In recent years, W.S. Dennison was experiencing recurrent driving issues, in particular with excessive wear on the clutch. The company has appointed a member of staff to monitor driving behaviour using information from the LINK and ecoPLUS unit to highlight detrimental behaviour such as harsh braking, cornering, speeding and other factors which amount to vehicle damage. Drivers are profiled using the Optidrive™ Indicator score.

Established for 21 years, Serviceline maintains and repairs catering and refrigeration equipment nationwide. Over 120 engineers provide maintenance services to a wide range of sectors including private business, local authority, healthcare, education and leisure customers. Offering a unique technology-driven customer support package, they offer local support and national coverage from a 10,000 sq.ft headquarters in Stevenage. Serviceline is owned by the Ali Spa Group of companies, which operates a £2b turnover.

Serviceline implemented a TomTom solution consisting of a LINK 300 GPS tracking box with 10-second positioning, paired with a GO 7000 navigation device with 2-way messaging and LIVE services including TomTom’s unique HD traffic.

The system was implemented in December 2009 and has resulted in a number of benefits for the company’s engineers, office based staff, and customers.

One of the key priorities for Serviceline was to utilise a navigation system with live traffic information, and by doing so they have significantly decreased mileage figures and extended the life of the vehicles, which in turn reduces the lease cost. The solution has slashed the time taken by Serviceline’s office based staff to allocate and send jobs to the engineers. The TomTom solution enables staff to view the driver’s destinations, ETA’s, and live traffic information, which benefits the customer by providing accurate estimated arrival times on demand. This is imperative in the catering industry, where timing is paramount.

 

Zenith Hygiene Group

Zenith Hygiene Group is a leading cleaning and hygiene specialist and distributes and delivers their products and services to business across a wide range of industries, from Healthcare and Laundry organisations to Government and Education.

Zenith has installed TomTom’s navigation and ecoPLUS fuel monitoring devices across 119 vehicles, including 56 company cars and 63 trucks.

Overall, the business has benefited from £10K savings in fuel per month, which equates to over £1000 per vehicle per year, after just 6 months since installation. In terms of fuel economy the average vehicle mpg has soared from 26 to 43 in 3 months. TomTom’s ecoPLUS has allowed Zenith to manage their carbon footprint, which has resulted in a reduction in CO2 emissions from 33lbs to 24lbs per day.
